samuel cole

i make things from scratch, then scale them. mostly websites.

from 2021 to 2026 i was the founding engineer and cto at lemontree, a non-profit connecting people to free food in their communities. what started as a small nyc helpline grew into a system helping over a million people across 11 regions. when i left, i wrote my context into markdown — an agentic coding practice that lets the team keep shipping by prompting, as if i never left.

before that:

  • actblue — built an embeddable donation form for biden 2020 + nonprofits
  • abacus — one of five engineers
  • jukely — lead web engineer
  • kickstarter — twelfth employee, one of the first two full-time engineers
  • patch — first front-end engineer
