Welcome to our workflow for generating a video-game-style virtual field experience in which you can interrogate outcrops with our structural-geology toolkit. Here we describe the step-by-step process of downloading the necessary software, setting up your geologic terrain model, and sharing the virtual field experience with the public.
Prerequisites:
A model you wish to present, with a size appropriate (less than 1.5 million vertices) for real-time rendering and physics calculation
Enough storage space for the Unity engine, the structural-geology toolkit, your model(s), etc.
You meet the Unity Editor system requirements. Most consumer computers can run the Unity Editor with this project at acceptable performance.
This guide assumes you are a newcomer to the Unity game engine.
