FWIW, while this API does not follow semantic versioning version numbering, this release contains non-backward compatible breaking changes that would typically be associated with a major version number increment.

@nickbroon these APIs belong to Public VIF feature that was only supported and released last Friday. These removed APIs are no op in 26.5.0 releas as the backend support was missing. We are good here.
