CodeCaddy June Updates

Here at DevBytes we use the tools we build which is why these new sets of features will address a lot of the friction that not only we felt but that you also felt. These improvements are all focused on making your interactions with your snippets as streamlined as possible. CodeCaddy should enable your workflow not stand in front of it.This release has two focal points where we focused on improving.

Sharing Snippets Improvements

• Save Shared Snippet: When you recieve a snippet 9 out of 10 times its because it is something you need to copy and paste somwhere to then run. Now, sharing the snippet with CodeCaddy solves half the battle the other battle is you actually saving that snippet so that you don't have to request another codecaddy share link from a colleague. This is why you are now able to save snippets directly to your account from the shared snippet page. When you click on the "Save to my snippets" button the shared snippet is immediately saved to your account.
• Raw Support: Now on the snippets page you are able to view the raw contents of the snippet through the "Raw" button. This will open a new tab with the snippet in plain text.
• Share button on dashboard: You will no longer have to click into the snippet to create a share link. The dashboard now displays a share button on each snippet card.

Finding Snippets Improvements

• Pinning: We all have our favorite snippets and we want them to close by all the time, so pin them. When you pin a snippet it will always be displayed first before other snippets.
• Filter by language: With language filtering you can narrow down the snippets you are currently want display to the programming language that is set.
• Sorting: You will now be able to sort your snippets with the default sorting "Recently Updated" in addition to "Newest Created", "Oldest Created", and "Name A-Z"
• Searching: Remember the title of the snippet? or a specific variable name in one of the snippets? The new search abilit searches across both. If it matches the title or if it matches the contents of your snippet then those snippets are displayed. There will be a "matched in snippet" badge displayed on the snippet card to denote match was made in the snippet contents and not the title.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed the wrong favicon being displayed
• The code editor in the shared snippet page supports syntax highlighting
• Addressed esc button not working properly when closing modals or tabs
• Fixed issues with local revision deletion not working properly
